Melbourne Fringe Festival 2026: Extraterrestrial

Trash Wizard

Trash Wizard follows two best friends, a Doritos chip packet and a Seagull, on a quest to remember what they are after the extinction of humanity. It’s been so long without humans that identity itself has ceased to exist... but there are rumours of a mysterious wizard (the magic 8 ball) that supposedly remembers what used to be.

Trash Wizard is a ‘Wizard of Oz' meets 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead' fever dream, but written by a Gen Z trans guy exploring the emotional/physical toll of the climate crisis in late-stage capitalism.

You can expect an absurdist post-humanist dark comedy slowly collapsing into tragedy within one tight, kitsch hour of camp and puppetry.
