This is not a traditional retelling but a bold, contemporary reimagining from Rollercoaster Theatre, an ensemble of 16 professional actors with intellectual disabilities. Premiering at La Mama Theatre’s Courthouse, RED unfolds in a theatrical world where the performers know they’re inside a story. They know they’re being watched. A controlling narrator attempts to steer events but the ensemble begin to interrupt, disrupt. It doesn’t take long for this story to unravel. This isn’t Red Riding Hood as you know it. Not everyone makes it out of the woods.
