Where art and activism intersect: a panel series about climate and the arts.

Join us for three sessions hosted by the Performance and Ecology Research Lab in tandem with the HOPE PUNK Climate Festival, where we'll hear from industry professionals and artists on climate action and the arts. Each session includes opportunity for audience Q&A - and of course the traditional La Mama free tea and coffee.

This panel conversation will explore the latest sustainability news in the performing arts, featuring updates from Creative Climate and Theatre Green Book Australia.

Performing Arts in a Climate Changed FUTURE

This panel conversation will explore ‘HopePunk’ as a concept and the role that theatre artists can play in imagining and performing climate futures.

Saturday 5th, 1-4pm

HopePunk Climate Storytelling Symposium & Manifesto Creation

This symposium will explore the challenges and opportunities of climate storytelling in the performing arts, including how ecological narratives intersect with performance making, politics, activism, protest and comedy. Participants will also be encouraged to contribute to La Mama’s policy manifesto for ‘Mama Earth’.
Featured speakers include: Margaret Harvey, Sarah Balkin and Lindsay Goss with Keynote by Singaporean theatre artist Ang Xiao Ting. Hosted by Julian Meyrick & Tanja Beer (P+ERL).
