The Last Reunion (Huling Tagpo)

The Last Reunion (Huling Tagpo) is a powerful new Filipino work tracing the lives shaped by the first major wave of Filipino migration to Australia after the White Australia Policy. Inspired by real stories of Filipino tradesmen who immigrated to Australia in the 70s and 80s and written by Palanca Awardee Ricardo Magno, this 60-minute play follows two teenage cousins, one in Australia, one in Manila, as they uncover buried family histories and ask what it means to belong across generations, countries and cultures.

The Last Reunion is a moving reflection on migration, memory, identity and the Filipino presence in Australia.
