The Chekhov

I saw my first Chekhov play when I was 20. The play was Three Sisters and it totally ruined me. I haven’t been that devastated by a piece of art until I saw the film Dancer in the Dark a year later. Nothing has affected me quite the same way since. "The Chekhov" is a very loose adaptation or re-imagining of Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov. Maybe I'm trying to connect the existential despair, disillusionment and loss I feel now to what I felt then, when I was 20, after I saw Three Sisters. Do you also feel this? You know, this constant lurching back-and-forth-motion of ‘Nothing matters!’, ‘It does matter!’, ‘No it doesn’t!’, ‘Yes it does!’?
This is basically what Three Sisters is about. This is also what "The Chekhov" is about.
