Snuff

Robbie is nineteen. He works in a news and lotto shop flanked by a real estate agent and a drycleaners, a shopping strip in an average Australian suburb. But something incredibly disturbing is happening underneath this façade of normality. Robbie is in thrall to an underground filmmaker, whose films sound suspiciously dangerous to perform, and he has accepted the lead role in the director’s upcoming film, Death in the Afternoon. Then he meets up with Petra, his boss’s melancholy, widowed, risk averse, middle-aged daughter. Snuff is a contemporary horror story and a tragicomic Gothic fantasy.
