Explorations 2026: c21 Theatre Company and The National Celtic Festival

Never Always Ever Was

Spanning decades and continents, Never Always Ever Was follows Danny, a restless young man from Belfast, and Julia, a Port Fairy local drawn to environmental change. Their chance meeting on New Year’s Eve 1989 sets in motion a story that ripples across generations. This dynamic two-hander, performed by acclaimed actors from Australia and Northern Ireland, shifts between time and character to explore identity, home, and the legacies we inherit and leave behind.
